On the Day

Registration

One representative from each team must register from 09:15 with the entry fee and a team sheet. Team parade commences 09:45, games start 10:00 sharp on the hooter.

Format

16 teams in two groups of eight — Group A on the Main Pitch, Group B on the Training Field. Each team plays 4 games, selected at random. No knockout games or finals.

Refreshments

Free tea and coffee all day, plus a tuck shop on site. Lotto tickets are sold at the tea station — raffled on the day for spot prizes, and entered into the following week's club draw.

Rules

Adapted in line with the GO Games principles for this age group.

Format

  • 11-a-side, unlimited substitutions
  • A substituted player must be off the field before the new player goes on
  • No half-time — 15 minutes play, with a 5 minute break between games

Kick-Outs & Frees

  • The goalkeeper may advance 10m for the kick-out
  • The fouled player takes the free; on an over-carry, the nearest player takes it
  • Frees are given on the full, or the ball is advanced 5m
  • The nearest opponent takes a sideline kick
  • Opponents must stand 5m back at frees, sidelines and kick-outs
  • The 45 rule is not applied; frees and sidelines can be taken from the hands

Play & Gear

  • Gum shields are mandatory
  • Two-touch rule applies: two solos, or one solo and one bounce
  • Play continues through injuries — the injured player is subbed off for sideline treatment

Scoring

  • 1 point for the ball played over the crossbar
  • 1 point for the ball played under the crossbar (a goal)
  • No umpires stand at the goals — the referee calls the score
  • Scores aren't published on the day; teams keep their own

Discipline

  • Persistent fouling — pulling, jersey-pulling, striking, abusive language — draws a warning
  • The next such offence gets a player sent off, with no further part in that game
